Esta revista trata de salud y creatividad. De su múltiple imbricación en la vida. Hasta hace pocos años se estudiaba cómo el ánimo de los artistas influía en su obra, se hablaba del periodo negro, gris, azul…no por ser el color predominante, sino por el carácter más o menos triste de la obra de arte, ya fuese narrativa o musical o pictórica.

Hoy sucede al revés. Se estudia la influencia del arte en el bienestar físico y emocional. Se analiza cómo la música de Mozart mejora el rendimiento en los estudios, en el embarazo, en el test de inteligencia, en la recuperación en la UVI o en los cuidados paliativos. De cómo la danza puede mejorar la depresión en los niños. De cómo la pintura ofrece un nuevo canal de comunicación a los autistas.

Una idea, bastó una idea perseguida con paciencia y perseverancia para cambiar la vida de cientos de artistas de todo el mundo. Fue mas bien una pasión en su vida que batía fuerte en la mente y el corazón de Erich Stegmann, quien desde los dos años no podía mover los brazos debido a una poliomelitis medular: Pintar, esculpir. ¿Pero sin brazos? –“Cincelaré con la boca, pintaré con la boca”. Stegmann además de dejar cientos de obras, muchas recogidas en el museo de su nombre, fundó la Asociación Mundial de Pintores con la boca y con el pie. Comenzó en 1947 a buscar otros pintores que utilizasen la boca o el pie para expresar su arte, en 1957 fundaron la Asociación 16 pintores. Hoy más de 800 pintores sin brazos, distribuidos por todo el ancho mundo pueden vivir de su arte gracias a la Asociación.

Este número de “La Terapia del Arte” dedica varias páginas a resaltar el valor de expresar la belleza por encima de toda adversidad.

De esto trata la revista “La terapia del arte”, de poner en relieve los muchos y buenos trabajos que se están realizando en arteterapia a disposición del público general, para tomar nota, aprender y motivar.
